Capacity is the honest ceiling on your week: how many hours you actually have, versus how many hours of work you've committed to.
Set a budget in Settings → Capacity — how much time you're willing to give to work in a period. That budget is what plans are checked against.
The capacity timeline shows committed work against available time across the coming period. Existing calendar events, scheduled habits and committed plan blocks all count against it, so it reflects your real week rather than an empty one.
When a plan doesn't fit, FocusAnalyze says so and asks what to cut, rather than silently squeezing estimates or spilling work into the following week.
This is the single most useful thing the product does, and it only works if estimates are roughly honest. An unestimated task contributes nothing to capacity, which means a backlog of unestimated work will make a hopeless week look fine.
Capacity is part of FocusAI's context when it plans. Ask "can I take on this project this month?" and the answer is grounded in your budget and your existing commitments, not in optimism.
Team-level capacity — rolling several people's budgets into one view — is not shipped yet. Capacity today is per-person.
