Search

Cmd+K (Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux) opens global search from anywhere in the app.

What's searchable

Search covers your whole workspace, not just tasks:

  • Tasks and task comments
  • Events
  • Projects
  • Habits
  • Life areas
  • Journals — day and week
  • Reports
  • Plans
  • Notifications

Results are grouped by type and deep-link straight to the right place — a task comment result opens that task with the comment in view, not just the task.

[@portabletext/react] Unknown block type "screenshotPlaceholder", specify a component for it in the `components.types` prop

How it works

Search is backed by a full-text index rather than a database scan, so it stays fast as your workspace grows and tolerates near-misses in spelling.

Searching with FocusAI

For anything that isn't a keyword lookup — "what did I say about the pricing decision back in July?" — ask FocusAI instead. It searches the same data but can reason across it, where Cmd+K matches text.
